More On:

Leo Woodall

Leo Woodall is the target of an international conspiracy in Apple TV+‘s new series Prime Target.

Woodall stars in the thrilling series as gifted mathematician Edward Brooks, who finds himself on the verge of a major breakthrough — and in the midst of an international security threat — when his research at Cambridge University into prime numbers uncovers what could be the key to every digital lock in the world. Now on the run for his life from several enemies, Ed finds an unlikely ally in rogue NSA Agent Taylah Sanders (Quintessa Swindell).

This season takes off running when Ed realizes he’s not only being surveilled, but his life is at stake. The theorem he’s developing could unlock defense systems, bank accounts, and cybersecurity secrets around the world. With Taylah on his side, Ed may just have a chance to survive this. But he’s going to have to dig deeper into the international conspiracy he’s found himself in.

In an exclusive clip shared with DECIDER from this week’s episode of Prime Target, titled “Kaplar,” Ed and Taylah are debriefing in a pub when he reveals he uncovered a digital trove of over 30 years of payments and surveillance.

Apple’s description for this week’s episode reads, “Ed digs deeper for clues at the institute,” while “Andrea navigates devastating news in Baghdad.” As for Taylah, she “reconnects with leadership.”

“They film everything, they keep everything you write and everything we put on our boards,” Ed tells Taylah in the exclusive clip, which can be watched above. “They somehow capture on their system and keep it in a digital archive.”

Ed appears overwhelmed as Taylah pushes him to dig deeper and gain access to the archive. “We need to get access and we need to do it fast,” she warns.

He knows from experience now; the deeper he gets into this conspiracy, the more danger he’s putting himself and Taylah in. But duty calls.

Woodall, who many may recognize from One Day and The White Lotus, proves once again he has the star power and the complexity to helm such a series.

“If you love thrillers, this is one you need to be streaming,” Decider’s Angela Tricario wrote in her recommendation of Prime Target. “It has a little bit of everything; it’s part A Beautiful Mind, part Good Will Hunting, part 70s paranoid thriller, and it even has some romance thrown in.”

New episodes of Prime Target air Wednesdays on Apple TV+.
