They nearly had to face the music.

A Brazilian band’s plane ride turned catastrophic after the door burst open mid-flight, forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing. A Twitter of the nightmare at 30,000 feet currently boasts nearly 100,000 views.

The near-calamity occurred last week just 30 minutes after the plane departed from Sao Luis en route to Salvador city, according to local outlet Portal O Informante.

The medium-bodied jet was transporting band members of the Brazilian singer-songwriter Tierry after the group had performed “a show attended by thousands of people.”

Tierry, the frontman, meanwhile, was not on board as he’d flown out on a different flight ahead of his bandmates.

Disaster struck after the fuselage opened up while the plane was in the air.

In the frightening footage, Tierry’s bandmates — who sat remarkably calm during the whole ordeal — can be seen in the cabin with the door wide open like the immortal near-crash landing scene from Cameron Crowe’s 2000 classic “Almost Famous.”

Faced with the potential disaster, the pilot decided to turn the flight around and make an emergency landing back at  Hugo da Cunha Machado airport in Sao Luis.

Shortly after arrival, medics came aboard and checked on the passengers, who thankfully didn’t suffer any injuries during the inadvertent open-air plane flight.

Tierry’s band, meanwhile, returned to their hotel, presumably relieved to not have joined the long list of famous bands to perish via plane crash.

Authorities are currently investigating what caused the door to burst open post-takeoff.

Unfortunately, not all mid-flight hatch openings have been the result of technical issues.

In a now-notorious incident in May,passenger on an Asiana Airlines flight opened the emergency exit minutes before it landed in Daegu, South Korea, on Friday because he “wanted to get off the plane quickly.”
