If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen — and there was a bash registering somewhere up near ghost peppers on the Scoville scale to celebrate new food and fashion mag, Takeaway.
The magazine is a spicy younger sibling of Family Style, another grub and garb book from editor Joshua Glass, which itself launched just 18 months ago. “In fashion speak, Takeaway is the Miu Miu to Family Style’s Prada,” he told us. “It’s the younger sister and, as such, is edgier, sexier, and more ‘right now.’ ”
Glass hosted the party at Parcelle Greenwich Village which — appropriately for the new mag’s Gen Z audience — was heavy on influencer/model types, including Meadow Walker, Kristy Baez, Dylan Blanco, Ava Dash, Sinn Apsara, Lenin Betancur, artists Miles Greenberg and Yagazie Emezi and many others.
It was co-hosted by H&M. Perhaps counter-intuitively, we’re told Takeaway is less online than Family Style.
“While Family Style has its own fully developed digital universe, Takeaway will be analog — twice a year in print — and Instagram only, as a more direct tool to connect with a younger audience,” Glass told us.
