NextImg:PGA Tour pro Joel Dahmen may have a huge bar tab in Detroit

Joel Dahman’s bill is coming due, and by all appearances, it’s going to be considerable.

To set the scene, the 35-year-old PGA Tour pro is a big Seahawks fan, and things were looking mighty bleak for them to make it into the playoffs in Week 18.

Lo and behold, the Lions, who were mathematically eliminated before kickoff, went into Lambeau Field and stunned the Packers, 20-16, in a Sunday night game that would’ve put Green Bay in the playoffs with a victory.

Instead, with the Lions’ win, the Seahawks were in.

And that’s when a jubilant Dahmen made an expensive promise.

“Holy cow! I can’t believe the Lions are sending MY Seahawks to the playoffs. Beers for everyone in Detroit this summer,” Dahmen tweeted on Jan 8.

The internet never forgets, and with the Rocket Mortgage Classic coming up this weekend in Detroit, Dahmen was reminded of his solemn oath.

“Our Detroit fans haven’t forgotten, @Joel_Dahmen,” the account for the tournament tweeted on Tuesday.

To his credit, Dahmen does not appear as if he plans to welch on his promise.

“How much are beers at the course this week?” he asked in response.

Hopefully, the course can cut him some kind of deal, as Golf Digest provided a “conservative” estimate that about 100,000 adults will attend the tournament this weekend.

Dahmen turned pro in 2010, and has about $10.7 million in career earnings, according to Spotrac.

Unfortunately for Dahmen, it would be the last stroke of fortune in the Seahawks’ season, as they fell 41-23 to their AFC West rival Niners in their NFL wild card clash.
