The Mets may have a bigger Polar Bear problem than initially believed.
There’s real concern slugger Pete Alonso will go on they injured list and could potentially miss a few weeks, according the The Post’s Jon Heyman.
Alonso left Wednesday’s game in Atlanta after taking a 97 mph fastball off his left wrist in the first inning.

Initial X-rays were negative, though the first baseman flew home to New York for additional tests on Thursday.
The Mets are hoping for clarity – and good news – on Alonso and his MLB-leading 22 home runs.
“We haven’t gotten any definitive thoughts one way or the other, but we are trying to get definitive about it,” manager Buck Showalter said before Thursday’s 13-10 extra-inning loss to the Braves. “My hope is he flies to Pittsburgh [on Friday] and plays for us.”
