Wheel of Fortune contestant Ashley McFarland already appeared nervous when she took the stage for her Bonus Round. Unfortunately for her, longtime host Pat Sajak did nothing to assuage her fears.

After picking her category on last night’s (Jan. 9) episode, McFarland got to choose which letters she wanted to add to the three-word puzzle she had to solve.

“Let’s see what this does for you,” Sajak told the contestant as the letters began appearing on the board. After noticing her nerves, he told her, “It’s too early to panic.”

But right before she was given ten seconds to finish solving the puzzle, he quipped, “Now you can panic.”

Thinking out loud, McFarland guessed, “Something the aisles. Braising the aisles? Grazing the aisles?”

The timer then went off, revealing the correct answer, which McFarland unfortunately did not guess: “Browsing The Aisles.”

“You don’t graze ’em, you don’t braise ’em,” Sajak teased, to which McFarland replied, “Graze ‘em, my goodness!”

She continued to laugh as Sajak revealed the unbelievable prize she missed out on: a brand new BMW!

“It’s okay, $23,000!” she said in response, referring to her take-home earnings.

Sajak has become known for teasing his contestants. He recently clapped back at a competitor who had a bold reaction to a puzzle she failed to solve. When the answer was revealed she asked, ”What kind of puzzle is that?”

Sajak swiftly responded, “It’s a puzzle you didn’t solve.” Brutal!
