We’ve all been wondering who is going to replace Pat Sajak after he retires from Wheel of Fortune at the end of the upcoming season: will it be Whoopi Goldberg? Ryan Seacrest? Maybe even LeVar Burton?
But what will Sajak himself do once he has all of this new free time on his hands?
We can help solve that (prize) puzzle: the 76-year-old Sajak will serve as chairman of Hillsdale College, a conservative liberal arts school located in Michigan. Sajak has been a member of the board of the college and has served as its vice president since 2003.
He was actually named as chairman in 2019, and will continue in the role after he departs Wheel. Emily Slack, Executive Director of Media Relations and Communication at Hillsdale, told The New York Post, “For decades, Pat Sajak has been an icon of radio and television. There are few things more intimate than appearing in the living rooms of countless Americans every evening. We know that he will be missed and congratulate him on his well-deserved retirement.”
Slack continued, “Hillsdale College is fortunate to have an even closer relationship with Mr. Sajak. Since 2019, we have benefited from his wisdom, intellect, and good humor as chairman of Hillsdale’s board of trustees. We look forward to continuing our important work together and to what we are sure will be a bright future for Mr. Sajak and his family.”

Hillsdale, which serves about 1,500 students at its campus in Hillsdale, Michigan, refers to itself as a Christian, classical liberal arts college.
Sajak has been vocal about his conservative values in the past and is a contributor to Young America’s Foundation, a group dedicated to organizing and funding conservative programming on college campuses.
Sajak will also stay on the Wheel of Fortune payroll as a consultant for the next three seasons.
