Reese Witherspoon strolled Sunday’s red carpet with her look-alike son Deacon Phillipe at the 2024 Golden Globes post-divorce from Jim Toth, and her doppelgänger revealed that his mom is quite the “party animal.”
“This is my first Golden Globes and really my first awards show so I am very excited,” the 20-year-old told Variety while his proud mama looked on.
Phillipe, an actor and a singer, seemed at ease on the red carpet, possibly due to the wise words he received from his mother on how to prepare for one of the biggest nights in Hollywood.
“So there’s two main things,” Phillipe explained. “Gum, hand sanitizer and be nice to everyone.”
He also jokingly revealed one of the perks of stepping out with the 50-year-old “Legally Blonde” actress for the awards ceremony is that he has no “curfew.”
“Curfew? I don’t know,” Phillipe said. “We’ll see. I’m following her tonight. She’s the party animal and so I’m just going to try and keep up.”
“The Morning Show” actress looked stunning in a simple pale pink and black velvet Monique L’Huiller dress accented with Tiffany and Co jewels, and spoke about her hit show with Jennifer Anniston.
“I mean is this the best fun ever,” she explained of season 3 of the hit Apple TV+ series that saw her character go to space. “Ok I went to space. Also, we had a hack at the network at the morning show. Also, there was trouble with my brother and January 6th. Yep. It was busy.”
“Oh gosh. I don’t even know but we are on such a roll,” she said of working on the upcoming third season. “I’ve had such great feedback about season 3 so Jen and I really excited to get started.”
In addition to Phillip— who looked fabulous in a classic black tuxedo — Witherspoon also shares daughter Ava Phillippe with her ex-husband, Ryan.
The “Sweet Home Alabama” actress is also a mom to son Tennessee Toth, 11, who she shares with ex-husband Toth.
The couple announced they were divorcing in March 2023.
Witherspoon also confirmed that she is working on season 3 of “Big Little Lies” with Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern, and Zoë Kravitz.
“We are working on it” she said. “Nick and I have been working on it alot.”
