Oreo fans are seeing red — and that’s a good thing.

After a three-year hiatus, the iconic cookie brand is bringing the red velvet flavor back — the “most requested” of Oreo’s limited edition treats, according to People.

The sweet sandwich will be available beginning Sept. 12 for a limited time only. The flavor remains unchanged since 2015, when it was first released, according to parent company Mondelez.

“The limited-edition cookies feature the same red colored, red velvet flavored basecake with cream cheese flavor creme fans have known and loved from years past,” a rep told The Post.

The cake-inspired flavor’s return has been teased repeatedly on the company’s social media pages, beginning with a video of the cookies rolling around a red background last week.

They also posted a pictures of a red velvet Oreo cheesecake and a completely red room.

But on Thursday, Mondelez teamed up with New Jersey bakery owner Justin Ellen, who once competed on the Netflix reality competition show “Is It Cake?” to officially announce the exciting news.

To mark the special occasion, Ellen, who was dressed in a red suit, had to guess which red velvet Oreo pack was actually a cake, in a video posted to their Instagram page.

“Is it real⁉️” the caption of the post read. “Yes ???? …and OREO Red Velvet is about to hit the shelves again, for realz.”

The cookie will be available in stores nationwide.

Last sold in 2020, some people have been begging for a comeback ever since.

On the platform X, one person even created an account last year — titled, “Bring Back Red Velvet Oreos” — dedicated to the cause.

Now, it looks like Oreo is definitely making a lot of dessert fans happy with the news.

“@Oreo bringing red velvet cookies back is like the second best thing to happen this year,” one user wrote on X. “Thank you Jesus!”

Another person agreed, typing, “As an honest Red Velvet fan, I speak for everyone when I say that we are excited to munch on these OREOs.”

“The news we needed to keep us afloat,” someone else joked.

Red velvet is not the only fun flavor that Oreo has brought back to its lineup in recent months.

In June, Oreo brought back their cotton-candy flavored cookies, as well as their S’mores selection, for a limited-time only, according to Food & Wine.

Both of the flavors hadn’t been made since 2015.
