One Yankees fan was not psyched to see Joey Gallo succeeding against his former team.

In the bottom of the fourth inning of the Yankees-Twins game on Monday, Gallo slugged a home run off Yankees pitcher Greg Weissert to give Minnesota a 4-0 lead.

When the YES Network broadcast showed Gallo returning to the Twins dugout after the homer, the audience could hear a Yankees fan on the road at Target Field shout down, “Hey Gallo, why couldn’t you do that in New York? You bum!.”

To say Gallo struggled mightily as a Yankee during his portions of the 2021 and 2022 seasons that he spent in pinstripes would be an understatement.

Gallo hit .160 in 188 at-bats in 2021 and .159 in 233 at-bats in 2022, before getting traded to the Dodgers in August.

In December, Gallo signed a one-year deal with the Twins worth $11 million.

Early in the season, he has been playing much better than he did with the Yankees, as he currently has a .243 batting average with six home runs and a 1.120 OPS.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone implied that shedding the mental hurdle of struggling with the Yankees has helped Gallo with his new team.

“I think it was very tough on him,” Boone said Monday night.

“It absolutely wore on him. It was the real deal. But I respected how he handled it. He never ran from it, he never wanted out of the lineup.

“As best he could, he faced it and owned it. I know what a tough time it probably was in his life and the challenges he’s faced, but he had my respect in the way that he always continued to fight and compete.”

The Twins ultimately won the game 6-1, and the two teams square off again Tuesday in a pitching matchup of Nestor Cortes on the mound for the Yankees versus Joe Ryan and the Twins.
