Ex-intel boss Michael Hayden displayed an incredible lack of intelligence this week with his crude attack on Tommy Tuberville, suggesting the US senator be removed from “the human race.”
Asked on X (formerly Twitter) if Tuberville should be booted from the Senate Armed Services Committee over the holds he’s placed on military confirmations, Hayden cracked, “How about the human race?”
And when Republicans expressed outrage for calling for the lawmaker’s “assassination,” he simply doubled down — while sneakily looking to rewrite what he’d said.
“Many MAGAnuts had lost their minds over my suggestion ‘Coach’ Tuberville not be considered a member of the human race.”
Sorry, but the suggestion was to remove the senator from the human race — i.e., to kill him.
It’s par for the course from this self-righteous blowhard.
Last year, he agreed with a tweet arguing that “no political force” — no “extremism” or “violent ideologies” — are “more nihilistic, dangerous & contemptible than today’s Republicans. Nothing close.”
Really? Worse than Hamas, Iran’s rulers, ISIS, the Chinese Communist Party, al Qaeda?
Then again, this is the ex-CIA boss who was running the National Security Agency on 9/11. Great work, there, no?
He’s also one of the “Dirty 51” intel officials who purposely deceived the public with a letter dismissing The Post’s 100% true Hunter Biden-laptop scoop to help Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Meanwhile, Tuberville’s holds — he objects to Biden Pentagon payments for abortion travel, charging they violate the ban on federal funds for such purposes — merely force Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer devote Senate floor time to confirmations, rather than rushing them through rapidly.
Nor are they out of line with Senate practice.
Democrats delayed more nominees tapped by President Donald Trump than any previous president.
Indeed, both parties have increasingly used delaying tactics on confirmations (and other measures) these last two decades.
In the House, Rep. Jamaal Bowman (D-NY) actually pulled a fire alarm last month in attempt to slow legislation.
Hayden clearly needs to get grip.
And both Dems and Republicans should never again let him anywhere near an intelligence agency.
