NextImg:Olivia Munn confesses she chugged multiple glasses of wine during her "tipsy" 2011 'Today' visit: "Let's party, girls!"

Olivia Munn‘s first day hosting Today With Jenna & Friends kicked off with a look back on her 2011 visit to the NBC talk show, when it looked very different than it does today.

At the top of Monday’s (March 31) broadcast, Jenna Bush Hager told her co-host for the week, “I remember when you were here and you were day-drinking. I feel like you were taking shots with Hoda [Kotb] and Kathie Lee [Gifford].” They then aired a clip from Munn’s 2011 appearance where she chugged not only her own glass of white wine, but also Kotb’s.

“Oh there it is, oh my gosh,” the actress said as she watched it back. She roasted her outdated outfit, admitting, “That’s me, that’s back when I dressed myself. That’s when I went to Nordstrom.”

She continued, “Yeah, I was like, ‘Let’s party, girls.’ I was tipsy that whole episode.” Munn then revealed that her mother asked if they had used “fake” alcohol and pretended to be drunk for the show, which Munn realized may have been the smarter thing to do instead of drinking on daytime television. “No, I really drank it,” she confirmed.

Gifford and Kotb were known for their daytime drinking. By the time Gifford left the show and Bush Hager replaced her, the co-hosts reportedly drank 5,300 glasses of wine together on Today.

Bush Hager pointed out that a lot has changed since Munn was on the show in 2011. Not only have both Gifford and Kotb stepped away from the show, but the fourth hour of Today has undergone an entire makeover to become Today With Jenna & Friends as Bush Hager continues her search for a permanent co-host.

As for Munn, the actress has since married comedian John Mulaney and become a proud mother of two. She has also become an outspoken health advocate since being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023.

Munn is the latest guest host to join Bush Hager on the fourth hour of Today. She will be co-hosting for the remainder of the week, through Friday (April 4).

Last week was a family affair on the show. Bush Hager was not only joined by her twin sister Barbara Bush and two of her cousins, but she also had her husband of over 20 years, Henry Hager, guest host for two days.

The love birds put their relationship to the test by doing a lie detector test together.

Henry not only admitted that Jenna sometimes gives him “the ick,” but Jenna also admitted on the air that she was “nervous” about whether he would be a good co-host.

“I wanna protect you, sweetie!” she told her husband.

Today with Jenna & Friends airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
