Olivia Culpo gushed over husband Christian McCaffrey as she commemorated the start of his first NFL training camp as a new dad on Monday.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, who gave birth to their daughter Colette Annalise McCaffrey earlier this month, said that they’re going to miss the 49ers All-Pro running back when he goes back to work.
“Best daddy in the world goes to camp today. Everyone go wish him luck @christianmccaffrey,” Culpo, 33, wrote, including a black and white photo of McCaffrey gazing at their newborn.
“We’re going to miss him so much,” she added with a crying emoji.
Culpo and McCaffrey announced the arrival of their first child with a joint Instagram post on July 13, including a carousel of black and white photos showing the family of three in the hospital.
One image showed Culpo on the operating table and McCaffrey holding her hand during her C-section surgery.
Culpo was candid about hurdles with her health during her pregnancy.
Taking to TikTok in March, the Miss Universe 2012 revealed she was on bed rest for weeks.
“I had pneumonia and I was sick also for two weeks,” Culpo said in a “get ready with me” video. “All in all I’ve truly been on bed rest for four weeks… Towards the end of two weeks of being really sick, I got a subchorionic hematoma, which is basically a blood clot in my uterus and I was bleeding everywhere.
“So at this point, I was so exhausted, like two weeks of just not being able to move and then all of a sudden just purging. It was a lot. It was heavy… I went to the doctor and it was really exciting to see that there was still a heartbeat.”
A subchorionic hematoma or hemorrhage is bleeding between the wall of the uterus and one of the sacs (chorion), per the Cleveland Clinic.
Culpo announced in March that she was expecting her first child with McCaffrey.
It came less than a year after they tied the knot in her native Rhode Island, which included their nuptials at Watch Hill Chapel before a lavish reception at the Ocean House resort.
Culpo and McCaffrey, who have been together since 2019, got engaged in April 2023.
