An off-duty NYPD officer died after he was seriously injured in a car crash on Long Island, law enforcement sources said Monday. 

Officer Kevin Lui, 43, who was assigned to upper Manhattan’s 23rd Precinct, crashed his car early Friday on the Northern State Parkway in Commack, Suffolk County, the sources said. 

The collision left him with a broken leg and severe damage to his internal organs, according to the sources. 

Lui, a 17-year veteran of the NYPD, was rushed to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he died on Sunday just after 7 p.m., the sources said. 

The NYPD referred a request for comment about Lui to the New York State Police, which is handling the investigation into the crash and did not immediately respond Monday.
