Odell Beckham Jr. won’t be handing out $100 bills on the LSU sidelines again anytime soon.
The Baltimore Ravens wide receiver was banned from the LSU facility for two years for passing out cash on the sidelines at the 2020 national championship game, part of an extensive set of punishments handed down to LSU on Thursday.
Beckham ruffled feathers when he publicly embraced then-LSU star wide receiver Justin Jefferson and handed him wads of cash in a handshake after the Tigers won the national championship game in 2020.
According to The Advocate, LSU officials claimed the money was fake at the time — but clearly, the NCAA took issue, even after the school banned the wideout itself.
Beckham, a two-time Pro-Bowler in the NFL and a former Giants star, caught 143 passes for 2,340 yards and 12 touchdowns at LSU.
He hasn’t played since the 2022 Super Bowl, when he tore his ACL with the Rams en route to his first title.
The OBJ suspension is a small chunk of a harsh punishment dealt to LSU by the NCAA’s Independent Accountability Resolution Panel (IARP).
LSU has vacated all of its football wins from 2012-2015 because former offensive lineman Vadal Alexander was ineligible for his entire career after his father received $180,150 in embezzled funds from John Paul Funes, former head of the Our Lady of the Lake Foundation.
Funes pleaded guilty to embezzlement charges in 2019 following accusations of misusing almost $800,000 from the Our Lady of the Lake hospital system’s fundraising program.

Funes offered Alexander’s mother a job at one of the foundation’s hospitals and his father a position at the foundation, which was considered a Level I violation.
After the Tigers vacated 37 wins, including two bowl games, former head coach Les Miles lost his eligibility for the College Football Hall of Fame.
LSU is also under probation for three years starting in September because of former offensive line coach James Cregg’s recruiting violations.
