NextImg:Oakland security made Mets fan take down Kodai Senga-ghost signs during blowout win

Mets fans are all in favor of Kodai Senga’s strikeouts, so much so one fan made signs on the road to commemorate each of them in honor of the pitcher’s ghost forkball.

But the fun didn’t last too long.

In the top of the fourth inning of the Mets whopping 17-6 win over the Athletics at Oakland Coliseum on Friday night, Oakland security guards were show on the SNY broadcast taking down four of the fan’s posted ghost signs, among others already within their grasp.

“They’re making them take the ghost signs down,” Mets play-by-play man Gary Cohen said. “Oh, come on guys. It’s only fun.”

“I mean, there is not enough people here to get angry at anyone,” Ron Darling added.

The fan, sporting a bright Mets blue and orange jacket, looked to be recording security as his signs were taken down.

Senga’s glove depicts a ghost holding a trident-like fork on the outside of the webbing — in honor of his signature pitch — and his name and number are spelled “S3NG4” in orange and black on the side.

Senga, 30, has a number of these gloves and debuted with one against the Marlins on April 2, where he allowed one run on three hits, walked three, and recorded eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.

In the fifth inning on Friday, the Japanese right-hander ran into pitch-count trouble, falling one out short of qualifying for the win in a game attended by 11,102.
