An NYPD public-information officer shot a driver with his service pistol during an apparent road-road incident in south Jersey last month, authorities said.

New York City cop Hieu Tran, 27 — whose job includes snapping photos of events for the Police Department’s social media  accounts — appeared grim-faced in Manhattan court Friday, where he agreed to extradition to the Garden State.

Tran, of Yonkers, is accused of using his department-issued gun to shoot a male driver in an incident believed to be related to a multi-vehicle crash in Voorhees around 11:15 p.m. May 17, according to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office.

He has been charged with first-degree attempted murder, second-degree aggravated assault and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, officials said.

The NYPD said Tran — who started with the force in February 2021 and lodged just 10 busts under his belt before landing at DCPI — was suspended without pay.

Camden prosecutors said cops arrived at the crash scene that night to find “one of the drivers was suffering from a gunshot wound.’’

The victim is still in the hospital, they said.

Tran was taken into custody Thursday after “detectives utilized surveillance video, cell phone records, and ballistics evidence to identify [him] as the individual responsible for shooting the victim during an apparent road rage incident,’’ prosecutors said.

“Ballistics evidence collected from the scene was ultimately linked to Tran’s department-issued firearm.”

The cop was expected to be driven to New Jersey on Friday afternoon to face the music there.
