


An NYPD officer was shot in the chest during a traffic stop in Queens on Monday evening, according to law enforcement sources.
A suspect was also struck by gunfire during the car stop near 19-19 Mott Avenue in Far Rockaway around 5:50 p.m., the sources said.
The cop, 31, was rushed to Jamaica Hospital where his condition was not immediately known, sources said.
The bullet might have missed or pierced the officer’s vest, sources said, based off preliminary information.
The suspect’s condition was not immediately known.
Two people were taken into custody, sources said, citing preliminary information.
The shot officer is part of the specialized community response team, sources said.
The NYPD did not immediately have information on the shooting Monday evening.
