A Manhattan woman’s lux Big Apple life came to a shocking halt after a piece of crane flew through her apartment window last week — forcing her out of her home and into debt.

“I was sitting in bed,” recalled Alexandra Zeh, a 24-year-old pharmaceutical sales rep. “It was about 7:15 in the morning. I was stalling going to the gym. All of a sudden I heard the noise.

“The glass just shattered all over me. I ducked under my covers. It was a deafening noise. It was unbelievable. I bet every single person in that building woke up.”

The construction crane, perched 45 stories high, burst into flames and partially collapsed, falling into a Hell’s Kitchen building and injuring at least a dozen people.

At least one lawsuit has already been filed.

“I felt like a bomb went off right outside my window,” Zeh, who was living in The Victory on 10th Avenue, told The Post.

Zeh said her apartment was the only one in the building impacted by the crane and that she and her roommate — who declined to be interviewed — were told they could not return for a month.

“If I go in my room I’ll be arrested,” she said.

A city Department of Buildings notice now affixed to her door sternly warns gawkers to stay out and that current conditions inside are “imminently perilous to life.”

“It’s been a disaster,” Zeh said. “We ended up walking around the streets for six hours calling them. We were just wandering around trying to get ahold of them in any sort of fashion and it was impossible.”

The two ended up at the Virgin Hotel in midtown — where they stayed for a week.

The hotel didn’t have double rooms so the pair were both forced to pony up $350 per night.

“They eventually contacted us . . . They told us this was going to be much longer than anticipated and they would not be paying for a hotel but they would not charge us for our rent when we’re out,” Zeh said.

“I’m now out over $3,000,” she said.

Zeh said she would like to get reimbursed and felt the crane operator, New York Crane, should be obliged to cover her hotel bills.

A rep for Fetner said confirmed they would not reimburse the girls for their hotel expenses, but said they compensate them through rent rebates and pay moving expenses.

New York Crane did not respond to requests for comment from The Post.
