What the shell?

A New York City woman was filmed casually walking a massive tortoise — named Beavis — in a Queens park.

The unidentified woman is seen in a viral clip posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, slowly strolling through the park, pushing a red trolley, as the reptile keeps a steady pace beside her.

“He’s beautiful,” Rafael Shimunov, host of WBAI’s “Beyond The Pale” radio show, can be heard saying as he films the duo.

The woman then reveals that the tortoise’s name is Beavis and he is five years old.

The owner, who said Beavis came from Florida, also reveals that the hulking animal will reach 300 pounds by the time he is full-grown.

It can take up to 25 years for a tortoise to reach full growth.

The woman revealed to Rafeal Shimunov that she bought five-year-old tortoise in Florida and doesn’t often take him out to the park anymore due to his size.

She claimed Beavis was the third largest in the world and suspects he’ll weight 300 pounds by the time he’s full grown.

“You took great care of him,” Shimunov tells her.

“Yeah, look at him,” she replies. “He loves me.”

The woman went on to describe Beavis as “friendly” and said he can even recognize her voice — and can feel when people pet his shell.

The woman didn’t divulge what kind of tortoise Beavis is, but commenters on X speculated that he is a Sulcata tortoise, which is one of the biggest ones.

On average, male Sulcata tortoises get up to around 70 to 120 pounds and measure up to 30 minutes long, according to Long Island Birds & Exotics Veterinary Clinic.

Sulcata tortoises typically live until they are 80 years old.
