A SummerStage staffer blasted a concertgoer with what appeared to be pepper spray this week in Central Park — after claiming the person called him a “f—-t,” wild video shows.
The incident happened on Wednesday evening after overcrowding forced officials to shut down Colombian singer Juanes’ concert just two songs into it.
With 12,000 fans gathered outside of Rumsey Playfield unable to get in, SummerStage workers began putting up metal barriers, a witness told The Post.
The employee complained the crowd “bum-rushed” and threw the barrier on top of him, and then grew even more irate when he said someone called him the offensive slur, according to the clip.
“You called me a f—-t? Done, done, done right now,” he says before whipping out a container, spraying a substance into the crowd, and yelling “B—h” as he walked away, the footage shows.
Brooklyn photographer Isaac Carvajal was there with his father, Giovanny, who videotaped the clash.
“The security people were kind of teasing the crowds,” said Carvajal, 25, who was about 10 feet away from where the exchange occurred. “They never said, ‘We are over capacity.'”
Police responded to the incident at East 71st Street and East Drive, where a woman and a man were sprayed by an unknown liquid, according to the NYPD. Both victims were treated at the scene, and the employee fled, cops said. There have been no arrests.
A rep from SummerStage told The Post that the security guard, who is employed by an outside contractor, is no longer allowed to work at their events.
“We don’t in any way allow the use of mace or force,” the rep said.
“When we were made aware of the video that had been circulating and what had transpired, we immediately took action.”
This was the first time in SummerStage’s 30-year history that a show had to be stopped for a reason other than weather.
