This Park Avenue jewel box apartment has been with the same family for more than 50 years.
And now, it’s on the market for $5 million — down from its $5.5 million ask in 2020.
Serial entrepreneur Peter Price and his wife Judith bought the Upper East Side spread for $150,000 in 1971 — about $1.15 million today. Neighbors included fashion icon Diana Vreeland, Broadway legend Oscar Hammerstein, philanthropist Kitty Miller and Countess Marina Cicogna.
The three-bedroom, 3.5-bath prewar co-op is at 550 Park Ave.
“After spending 50 years in one place, it was time to change. I love change and all the challenges each new day brings,” said Judith, who launched Avenue Magazine in the 1970s. She sold the publication after 25 years, in 2001. Since then, she’s written multiple books and launched two nonprofits for which she is president: the National Jewelry Institute and the National Beauty Science Institute.
Peter is currently chairman and CEO of Premiere Previews, which invests in new media ventures; he has also served on multiple boards including Reporters Without Borders, which he once chaired.
The couple will be spending most of their time in Paris, where they have an apartment, and where Judith was awarded the Legion d’Honneur.
On Park Avenue, a private elevator landing opens to an entry gallery. The apartment features high ceilings, oversize windows overlooking the Colony Club and an open layout.
The large living/dining area comes with a woodburning fireplace. It’s adjacent to a library that could also work as a third bedroom.
