Wanted: Seasoned stoners for quality control..
A new marijuana home delivery service run by a disabled vet relies on a network of 26 cannabis users to sample the quality of weed products that’ll determine which make the cut.
Queens-based The Cannabis Place gives testers questionnaires that grade flowered weed, edibles and other THC-infused products on a scale of 1 to 10.
“Only 8 and above make it to our shelf,” said Osbert Orduna, a Marine vet who served in Iraq and is CEO of The Cannabis Place.
“It’s about having high quality products, not quantity of products. It’s our quality control.”
One of the reviewers is businessman Gilbert Nieves, 49, who became Orduna’s pal when they attended Long Island University — and boasts of experience with pot from the West Coast and across the globe.
“I’m a long time cannabis user and enthusiast. Osbert trusts my opinion,” Nieves told The Post, adding he looks for the right taste, impact, longevity and the “density of the bud.”
A tough grader, Nieves said he’s tried 24 varieties of weed — but gave an 8 to only about a third of them — and no 9s or 10s.
“There was some very good weed. Some was OK. King Kong flower is excellent. It has a nice cruise control effect, definitely an evening strain,” he said.
The King Kong strain is the most popular flowered marijuana among customers, according to The Cannabis Place website.
The website describes King Kong as having a “very pungent earthy aroma, with very skunky wood like flavors” and “very sedating with euphoric waves that wash over the body as it calms the muscles and settles the mind into a state of happy contentedness.”
