A woman’s remains found stuffed in the garbage chute at a posh Chelsea building belonged to missing woman Jaclyn Elmquist — and police don’t believe there was foul play, cops said Saturday.
The 24-year-old’s body was discovered at +Art at 540 West 28th St. Friday afternoon, cops said.
“No criminality is suspected,” a police spokesperson said.
Police began looking at missing flyers that were hung in the area about Elmquist’s disappearance and put two and two together, cops said.
Video from outside the building shows Elmquist, who’s from Minnesota, stumbling down the sidewalk apparently inebriated before going in the building.
“It hasn’t been determined if she was intoxicated but it’s a possibility,” a police source said. “It’s being looked at.”
Elmquist had been at a work party in Manhattan and never made it back to Brooklyn, her cousin posted on X.
“My cousin Jackie Elmquist has been missing since last night after she left a work party in Manhattan – she didn’t come home or show up for work this morning please spread the word so people in the area can see it since all of her family lives here in Minnesota,” kat (@katlynkampmeier) on X posted.
A cause and manner of death was pending an autopsy by the city Medical Examiner’s office.
