A massive blaze tore through multiple stores in The Bronx overnight, leaving one firefighter injured, officials said Wednesday.
The three-alarm inferno erupted inside the Flat Fix tire shop on the Cross Bronx Expressway near White Plains Road in Soundview just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and spread to a flower shop next door, fire officials said.
Both stores were left significantly damaged, photos showed.
Videos shot by passerby captured large flames generating billowy black smoke into the night sky over the Parkchester neighborhood.
The flames roasted the one-story building for nearly three hours as FDNY firefighters worked to get the blaze under control, officials said.
Even after the conflagration was contained, firefighters were still putting out hot spots into the early morning, photos showed.
One firefighter was transported to Jacobi Medical Center with minor injuries, FDNY reported.
It was unclear if anyone was inside the commercial buildings at the time of the fire. No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire had not yet been determined as of Wednesday afternoon.
