What the Dickens?

Democratic Assemblywoman Inez Dickens has spent years falsely insisting she was a graduate of Howard University when she never actually completed a degree there — or anywhere, The Post has learned.

Dickens is currently looking to leave her longtime Assembly home and is locked in a fierce primary for the Harlem City Council seat being vacated by police-defunder Kristin Richardson Jordan.

Dickens “completed her studies at Howard University in Washington, D.C,” reads her official Assembly website.

A 2005 voter guide from the city Campaign Finance Board indicates Dickens had a “degree” from Howard University.

In a Citizens Union questionnaire that same year Dickens said “Education: Howard University (BA)” In another CU questionnaire from 2009 she also boasted about graduate work at the elite University of Chicago — whose school registrar told The Post she had never graduated or been enrolled there.

Dickens’ CFB voter guide entry this year does not list any information about her education.

Dickens’ campaign said the Chicago work had been a “federal Housing and Urban Development management certificate,” and confirmed she never received a degree from Howard.

They chalked up the educational discrepancies to “simple errors.”

“Inez has attended various institutions to receive relevant certificates so that she can further her education,” a rep said.
