They just turned up the heat.
*NSYNC, who shocked audiences when they briefly reunited at the VMAs, were put in the hot seat Thursday for a highly anticipated interview on the Youtube show “The Hot Ones.”
Host Sean Evans sat down with Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone during the season 6 opener to ask the former heartthrobs a few questions about their careers while munching on wings doused in hot sauce.
“When you think about the impressive or horrifying lengths fans have gone to get your attention is there a story that stands out,” asked Evans, 37, midway through the interview.
Taking a moment to catch his breath, frontman Justin Timberlake, 42, revealed that there was a time when two fans managed to sneak into his hotel room.
“There was one experience where there were girls who had gotten into my room and were hiding in the closet,” revealed Timberlake speculating the girls had gotten in through a housekeeper.
The “Trolls” star continued by saying that he heard the invaders giggling and was convinced that his room was haunted before finding the intruders.
Timberlake also recalled a moment when the group was leaving a festival and claimed that a “stampede of fans” started running after the tour bus.
“They were running in the field next to this road and there was a massive hole in the middle of this field,” said the “Can’t Stop the Feeling” singer.
“It’s not funny.,” interjected a laughing Chris Kirkpatrick. “It’s very sad.”
“And we didn’t laugh,” said Timberlake struggling to contain a smile. “But it was like a video where you see the kids running in large groups [ and they all fall off a cliff].”
Towards the end of the interview, Evans asked the group if they were able to rank their top five favorite songs.
“I was almost nervous to ask you about ranking your albums,” admitted Evans. “So in that spirit, with our brains on fire and mouth ablaze. I’m curious if we can collectively come up with the official Mount Rushmore of *NSYNC songs.”

The group immediately said “Tearin Up My Heart” and “Bye Bye Bye” were two songs they considered.
Both “It’s Gonna Be Me” and “Tommy” also made the cut while the final slot went to “I thought you knew.”
Realizing that all of the group’s songs deserved a spot, Evans decided to grant the band an “honorable mentions” category which was promptly awarded to “Drive Myself Crazy.”
*NYSNC’s appearance on the YouTube show comes a week after the boy band teased a brand new song called “Better Place” for the new movie “Trolls Band Together,” which stars Timberlake.
The film is set to sing and dance its way into theaters on Nov. 17.
