Star NFL wide receiver Davante Adams believes LeBron James would have dominated the gridiron if he played football.

Adams was appearing on “The Dan Patrick Show” on Wednesday when he was asked what kind of player he thought the NBA superstar would have been if he had played football, and Adams was quick to heap high praise on James.

“He would have been one of the best receivers, tight ends of all time. No question,” Adams said. “He can fly too. That’s the thing. He’s one of the fastest NBA players, probably of all time. I’ve never seen someone cover space on a basketball court. Maybe John Wall, Derrick Rose, something like that, but he’s up there with all of them.”

James did play football at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio and he certainly had the build for football.

He didn’t play his senior year as he turned his full attention to basketball, but there’s certainly an argument to be made that he could have excelled on the gridiron beyond high school, and Adams is a believer.

James likened himself on the football field to Randy Moss or Rob Gronkowski during an interview on the “New Heights” podcast in March.

The NFL wide receiver did joke that “Bron doesn’t help his case’ in terms of the feeling from some football players that basketball players who think they can play in the NFL would learn the reality real fast once they got hit.

“I do think it’s a little bit of strategy in there. I don’t think he’s actually banged up every time,” Adams said.

Adams has played in 164 games and has 957 career catches for 11,844 yards and 103 touchdowns.

Adams played for the Raiders and Jets last season and signed a two-year, $46million deal with the Rams.
