Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is dishing on her infamous arrest that aired in a 2011 episode of Jersey Shore. According to the reality star, the show’s producers told the cops to put her in handcuffs as she drunkenly frolicked around a beach in the summer of 2010.

Polizzi explained in Wednesday’s episode of the Therapuss with Jake Shane podcast that she had been drinking Long Island Iced Teas and Four Lokos the night before her arrest, which led to her chugging a beer at work the next morning to stop “the shakes” from coming on.

“I was like ‘I can’t do this.’ So that’s when I ran. I just ran to the bar. I took shots just to start feeling better, and then I just didn’t stop,” she said, noting that she met “random people” and “made out with an old man.”

Polizzi added, “It was a nightmare, but I had a great time.”

In the Season 3 episode of Jersey Shore, Polizzi ran around the boardwalk as she delivered the iconic line, “Where’s the beach?” before getting apprehended by officers.

“I knew the beach was right there, but my drunk self was like, ‘How do I get on the beach?'” Polizzi recalled on the podcast. “There’s only a certain amount of entries to get on the beach. I couldn’t find them anywhere, so I was like, ‘Where’s the beach? How do I get on the beach?’ And the guy’s like, ‘Right there,’ and I’m like, ‘I know, moron. How do I get on the beach?’”

The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star then claimed producers told the cops to arrest her.

“Those cops weren’t on shift for the town. They were on shift for production to make sure they are protecting us from crazy people,” she said. “So I don’t even think it’s legal for them to arrest me because they weren’t working for the town, but I watched the video back and one of the producers said, ‘Just arrest her.’ And they arrested me.”

Polizzi, who had never been arrested before that day, said she’s “not mad at it now” since it became “such an iconic scene.”

“But I’m like, ‘Bitch, why’d you tell them to arrest me? I’ve never been arrested before,'” she continued. “They knew I was gonna cause a crazy scene so they just wanted it to stop so they arrested me.”

Polizzi was ultimately put in handcuffs for disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and criminal annoyance. However, the charges were dropped and she was ordered to serve two days of community service and pay a $500 fine.
