This week on Love Island USA Season 7 has been nothing short of emotional whiplash.

The week kicked off with a shocking elimination when the boys chose to dump Jeremiah Brown from the island just as he was getting to know Andreina Santos, while the girls chose to break up Hannah Fields and Pepe Garcia by sending the blonde bombshell home. The controversial decisions sparked outrage among fans since both Islanders were forming strong connections — which is the entire point of the show, right?

When Casa Amor kicked off Monday night (June 23), there were only three solid couples whose established connections would be put to the test: Nic Vansteenberghe and Cierra Ortega, Olandria Carthen and Taylor Williams, and Chelley Bissainthe and Ace Greene. (Yes, we chose to leave Austin Shepard and Amaya Espinal out of that list since he had been complaining about her and our Amaya Papaya deserves better!)

Only 24 hours into Casa Amor, a shocking recoupling took place that forced two fan-favorite Islanders to leave the villa. Keep reading to find out exactly what happened in Love Island USA Season 7, Episode 20, and who supposedly went home after the fire pit gathering.

Day two of Casa Amor brought tears, drama, and a potential plot twist. After Amaya and TJ Palma were left single and vulnerable following the first coupling of the Casa Amor episodes, they were given 24 hours to form a connection or risk being dumped from the island. When it came time for the recoupling at the end of the episode, Zak Srakaew chose to leave Olandria behind and couple up with Amaya, while Clarke Carraway ditched Nic for Taylor.

Because Olandria and Nic were unable to connect with the new bombshells, they were given 30 minutes to pack their bags and leave the villa.

Here’s the plot twist! In the final few seconds of the episode, Olandria pulled up to the villa and hurried Nic into the car, hinting that there may be more to come for these fan-favorite Islanders. Will they stay in the hideaway for the remainder of Casa to spy on their significant others? Or are producers finally listening to Nicolandria stans and forcing them to realize their connection with each other? We won’t know until Love Island USA returns on Thursday (June 26)!
