Week 2 of the NFL season is here and the major question that everyone is asking is, “Where are the sharp bettors putting their money?”
As of Friday, money was flowing in on the Detroit Lions (-4.5) against the Seahawks, and the Chiefs (-3.5) were getting some love on the road against Jacksonville.
Those two teams are garnering the most money on BetMGM Sportsbook as of Friday, and the Bears (+2.5) is the third-most bet game in terms of money wagered.

“Sharp bettors are on the Chiefs to bounce back in Jacksonville in Week 2,” BetMGM Trading Team Lead Seamus Magee said. “The Cowboys to win are a popular pick in parlays; an upset by the Jets would be great. The biggest need for the sportsbook will likely be the Patriots on Sunday Night Football. New England pulling the upset would cancel many parlays.”
When talking about these insights, “handle” means money bet while “tickets” stands for the number of bets.
This is an important distinction, as the former would point to sharp bettors with big bankrolls laying big money, while the bet count would point to the public bettors who are betting smaller but in a high volume.
In terms of total bet count, the NFL’s most electric offense has been another public favorite, betting the Miami Dolphins (-3) in New England.
