The NFL is going to check the tapes.
The league is going to look into the opening-night spitting incident between Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Eagles tackle Jalen Carter, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Carter was ejected just six seconds into the game — before even a single snap was taken in Philadelphia’s 24-20 win — for spitting on Prescott, who, it was later revealed, had hocked a loogie in Carter’s direction first.
Prescott denied any bad intentions, claiming he was talking to guard Tyler Booker and had to spit, and it landed near Carter and drew the ire of the 6-foot-3, 313-pound behemoth.
“You spit at me?” Carter said to the QB, who responded, “Why would I spit at you?”
“I actually said words like, ‘Why the hell would I’ — excuse me, but probably even more colorful — ‘What would I need to spit on you for?’ He just spit on me in that moment, it was more of a surprise than anything,” Prescott said. “The refs obviously saw it. Threw the flag. I was like, `Hell yeah! We get 15 yards to start the game off.′ Didn’t realize he was getting ejected. Unfortunate that he did. Hell of a player.”
Carter was tossed for unsportsmanlike conduct for his actions.
“It was a mistake that happened on my side. It won’t happen again,” the Eagles star said. “I feel bad for just my teammates and fans out there. I’m doing it for them. I’m doing it for my family, also. But the fans, they showed the most love.”

A review of the incident is standard following a disqualification, per Pelissero, who noted that Carter essentially served a one-game suspension.
“I wanted to be out there with the guys so bad,” Carter said.
