NextImg:NFL Draft predictions, odds: Caleb Williams overwhelming favorite to go No. 1 overall

It’s official: The Chicago Bears have locked up the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

And with several months to go, one player is already an overwhelming favorite to be the top selection.

Unsurprisingly, USC quarterback Caleb Williams is far and away the front-runner to be the first pick of the draft, sitting at -500 at FanDuel Sportsbook to go No. 1 overall.

Williams has long been the consensus favorite to be the top selection.

As a prospect, Williams has been dubbed on the level of Andrew Luck and Trevor Lawrence.

On the field, he’s drawn comparisons to Patrick Mahomes.

Williams is trailed by UNC quarterback Drake Maye (+400), Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. (+1600) and LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels (+3500) on the odds board.

No other players have odds better than 80/1.

The bigger question, perhaps, may be which team will select No. 1 rather than which player will be selected at the top of the draft.

The Bears currently have Justin Fields, the No. 11 pick from the 2021 draft, starting under center.

Chicago has been rumored to be exploring trades for Fields, which could clear the way for them to target Williams or another quarterback.

After a promising end to the season for Fields, the Bears may opt to either trade down or use the pick to improve the team around him.

If they choose to hold onto the pick and stick with Fields as their play-caller, Chicago will likely turn their attention to Harrison, who could pair with DJ Moore to become one of the best receiver duos in the NFL.

Harrison is currently the favorite at DraftKings Sportsbook to be the first non-quarterback selected (-350) in the draft.

A lot can change over the next four-plus months until April 25 in Detroit, but Williams has clearly established himself at the top of the 2024 draft class.
