NextImg:NFL DFS Week 8 player picks: Hayden Hurst, Jordan Addison

Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL season.

I can’t wait for it, considering last week I went 1-for-4 on my picks.

We’ll look to bounce back in a big way by focusing on Sunday’s full slate of games, featuring a rare mid-season week with no byes.

Here are my favorite four projections on PrizePicks for Week 8:

It hasn’t been the best season for Hurst, but I’m confident in his ability to get us 21 or more receiving yards, a number he has eclipsed just twice this season.

The Panthers will have a new play-caller this week (Frank Reich handed those duties down to OC Thomas Brown), so perhaps we’ll see Carolina feature uts tight end a little more.

Even if that’s not the case, Hurst has seen at least three targets in every game this season.

The matchup could funnel a few extra targets his way, as the Texans have allowed the most receptions, the fifth-most receiving yards and the most fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Dare I say it? The Vikings’ offense has looked decent without Justin Jefferson in the lineup the last two weeks.

During that stretch, Addison has seen a 20 percent target share and a 39 percent air-yards share. And the Vikings have won both games.

Addison is coming off of his best game of his career, catching 7-of-10 targets for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

He has earned the trust of Kirk Cousins, and I fully expect him to be the WR1 in this offense until Jefferson returns.

I can’t exactly point out the reason, but I love a good kicker prop.

Brett Maher should have gotten more than 1.5 field goals last week, but he missed two of them and it ultimately cost him his job.

Let’s hope that’s not the case with Aubrey this week.

The Cowboys haven’t exactly had an explosive offense this season, but they’ve been able to move the ball and their defense has created a number of turnovers.

Aubrey has made at least two field goals in five of six games this season.

I generally shy away from all props around Ravens running backs, but I love the spot this week for Edwards.

Since J.K. Dobbins went down, Edwards has been the RB1 in a run-heavy offense. He has averaged 14.3 carries over the last four games.

This week, the Ravens square off against the Cardinals, who are 29th in DVOA against the run, while Baltimore’s offense is second in offensive rush DVOA.

The game script sets up well for Edwards too, as the Ravens are 8.5-point favorites.

If he gets 15 carries he’ll only need to average four yards per attempt, which shouldn’t be an issue against the Cardinals.
