


The hottest dish at Dan Abrams’ new restaurant wasn’t even on the menu.
Table-hopping news biz heavyweights spilled late-breaking industry goss at the veteran journalist’s new eatery, Danny’s, on Wednesday night.
Page Six caught snatches of chatter about Bari Weiss’s takeover of CBS News, the acquisition of Graydon Carter’s Airmail and other newsroom subjects du jour from tables filled with big hitters including Don Lemon, Bill O’Reilly, Abby Phillips, John Berman, ABC’s Debra O’Connell and Almin Karamehmedovic, Allison Gollust, Bill Hemmer, Ari Melber, Pat Kiernan and Tom Llamas.
One table at the the Flatiron spot including ABC’s George Stephanapolous and Ali Wentworth sitting with Peter Lattman and Isabel Gillies, while Bryant and Hilary Gumbel sat nearby.
Also on the scene were CBS’s Rob Marciano, Ben Sherwood of the Daily Beast, MSNBC regular Molly Jong Fast, ABC’s Lindsey Davis, CBS’s Shawna Thomas and “Good Morning America’s” Simone Swink.
Meanwhile, many stopped to greet Abram’s dad, First Amendment lawyer Floyd Abrams.
ABC News chief legal analyst and Mediate owner Dan was previously a co-owner of Tribeca eatery White Street, as well as the former Greenwich Village hotspot the Lion.
Page Six previously reported that when he was putting Danny’s together, he hoped it would have something of the flavor of Elaine’s mixed with a Keith McNally restaurant and Ralph Lauren’s Polo Bar.
He calls it “an American wine bistro.”
