A newlywed has died after being pulled from the water at a popular swimming spot on Sydney Australia’s northern beaches.
Emergency services were called to the scene at Shelly Beach at Manly about 1 pm on Wednesday after a person was found unresponsive in the water.
The woman, believed to be 32, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.
She is believed to have been a newlywed who was on her honeymoon, as reported by the Manly Observer.
It also reports the woman’s husband was among the bystanders who pulled the woman out of the water.
In a statement, a New South Wales, Australia Police spokesman said the woman was unable to be saved despite the efforts of paramedics.
Footage taken from the scene shows crews treating the woman on the sand while people stream along the walking track running to Manly’s main beach.
Police said a report will be prepared for the coroner.
