This week, there are lots of great new shows and movies dropping on every streaming platform: on Netflix, you can catch a new season of My Life With The Walter Boys and the premiere of The Thursday Murder Club, on Apple TV+, the complete first season of KPOPPED is now out, and Prime Video has great movies like Last Breath arriving.
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
Only Murders In The Building, but make it at a British old folks home: that’s what The Thursday Murder Club sounds like, anyway. The new Netflix original film, out Friday, stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and loads of other great actors as they investigate the death of a fellow resident at their retirement home. On Apple TV+, check out KPOPPED, the fun new reality show that features Western pop stars collabing with KPop royalty to reimagine their biggest hits. And on Prime Video, one of this year’s great, tension-filled thrillers, Last Breath, arrives to stream.
In The Thursday Murder Club, life at the retirement home gets some excitement when four curious residents – played by Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley and Celia Imrie – who fancy themselves amateur detectives, look into the death of one of their fellow residents and discover that danger is afoot. The film dropped on Thursday.
In the new Apple TV+ series KPOPPED, pop music acts like Ava Max, Boyz II Men and Kylie Minogue reimagine some of their biggest hits, performing them with a KPop twist (and some help from some of the biggest KPop acts in the world, like BLACKSWAN, JO1, and ATEEZ). The show is co-hosted by “Gangnam Style” singer Psy and Megan Thee Stallion, and all 8 episodes will drop on Friday.
In Last Breath, Finn Cole stars as Chris Lemons, a real-life diver who, in 2012, survived a horrific diving accident that trapped him under the North Sea. Woody Harrelson and Simu Liu star as fellow divers Duncan Allcock and David Yuasa, Lemons’s colleagues who launched a dangerous rescue mission to save him. Directed by Alex Parkinson, this thrilling survival story is an adaptation of Parkinson’s 2019 documentary of the same name and though it’s been out on digital for a few months already, it arrives to Prime Video this week.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
