This week’s new movies and shows on streaming include some big finales, like the final season if Vikings: Valhalla on Netflix, and some new premieres like Prime Video’s animated adult comedy Sausage Party: Foodtopia, which comes courtesy of that sausage factory of a brain belonging to Seth Rogen, Faye on Max, the autobiography of Faye Dunaway, and dozens more. (Also on Max and Discovery is a whole week’s worth of Shark Week original shows with names like Sharkano and Mothersharker: Hammertime, all hosted by your new favorite Fak, John Cena.)
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
This week Netflix’s Vikings: Valhalla and all of its valiant warriors head across the bifrost and into cancellation, as the beloved show closes out its run. On Max, you can catch the new celebrity bio Faye, a candid documentary about the life and career of Faye Dunaway. And on Prime Video, Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, and many others star in the animated series Sausage Party: Foodtopia.
Faye, which premieres on HBO and Max this Saturday, is a profile of one of the most glamorous movie stars on the 20th century, Faye Dunaway. The film pulls back the curtain on her illustrious career, which includes iconic roles in films like Network, Chinatown and Mommie Dearest, and Dunaway speaks candidly about her life and the many challenges she’s faced along the road to success.
The new 8-episode animated series Sausage Party: Foodtopia is a sequel to the 2016 film Sausage Party, and the show reunites most of the film’s stars for a new adventure. Seth Rogen, who co-wrote the film, returns as Frank, an anthropomorphic hot dog who teams up with a bun named Brenda (Kristen Wiig) and, obviously, a flatbread named Kareem Abdul Lavash (David Krumholtz), among others, to create a new utopian community to protect themselves from salivating humans.
Vikings: Valhalla is getting back up on that Norse horse for a third and final season on Netflix, and all your favorite characters, including Leif Erikson, Prince Harald, and Freydís Eiríksdóttir, are back. The new season, which dropped yesterday, stars Sam Corlett, Leo Suter, and Frida Gustavsson, and the series welcomes Goran Višnjić this season, who plays Erik and Freydis’s father, Erik the Red.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
