At 81 years old, Robert De Niro is doing something he’s never done in his career: headline a TV show. The actor stars in the new Netflix political thriller Zero Day, which is out now. Over on Paramount+, you can catch a new season of 1923, the show that’s the meat in the 1883-Yellowstone sandwich. And on Prime Video, catch the season 3 premiere of Reacher, the show starring Alan Ritchson as the hulkiest military investigator with a heart of gold that you ever saw.
Robert De Niro makes his TV debut this week with Netflix’s Zero Day, a political thriller where he stars as a former U.S. President named George Mullen who is pulled in to investigate a global cyberattack. Lizzy Caplan, Joan Allen, Angela Basset, Jesse Plemons and Connie Britton co-star in the show co-created by Narcos showrunner Eric Newman.
Alan Ritchson is back this week as transient loner military investigator Jack Reacher in season 3 of Prime Video’s Reacher. Three episodes dropped this week, with new episodes arriving weekly. This season is based on Lee Child’s seventh book in the Reacher series, Persuasion, and finds our buff vigilante in Maine where he goes undercover to gain intel on a smuggling ring. And while most of the cast this season will be new faces, don’t worry, Reacher-heads, Maria Sten is confirmed to return as Frances Neagley.
Yellowstone prequel 1923 returns on Sunday, Feb. 23 for its second season (which is also confirmed as its last). The series stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, who run the Montana ranch left to Jacob by his brother’s family, and season two will pick up during a particular harsh winter that threatens their livelihood. New episodes of the show will drop weekly on Sundays on Paramount+.
