Idris Elba is back as John Luther in Netflix’s Luther: The Fallen Sun, a feature-length continuation of the Luther series which ended in 2019 after five seasons. The film co-stars Cynthia Erivo as Luther’s boss and Andy Serkis as the serial killer he’s hunting down. Over on Paramount+, Peyton List (who you might know best as Tory on Cobra Kai) stars as Maddie, a dead high school student who has to solve her own murder. And on Hulu, Kerry Washington and Delroy Lindo co-star in UnPrisoned, a family dramedy about a woman whose formerly incarcerated father comes to live with her.

It’s been a few years since British detective series Luther wrapped, but lucky for us, Idris Elba has returned to play the title character, detective chief inspector John Luther, for an epic new adventure. Luther, now disgraced and sitting behind bars, is still determined to solve one last case involving a dangerous serial killer. Will he be able to break out of prison to capture the killer, or will he dare to escape and become a fugitive himself?
School Spirits, which dropped its first two episodes Thursday, stars Peyton List as Maddie, a (former) high school student who roams the afterlife investigating her own disappearance and murder. After realizing that she’s dead, she meets a group of fellow spirits, including Charley (Nick Pugliese) and Wally, played by Milo Manheim, who guide her through this new phase of her post-life. New episodes of School Spirits will air weekly until April 20.
UnPrisoned stars Kerry Washington as a single mother named Paige who has to adapt to a new normal after her father (played by Delroy Lindo) is released from prison and moves in with her. The new dramedy, which co-stars is ultimately the story of a family trying to heal old wounds and honestly navigate a situation that many people deal with but isn’t often depicted onscreen. Faly Rakotohavana co-stars as Finn, Paige’s teenage son. The complete first season of UnPrisoned is available now on Hulu.
