Admit it, you’ve missed Carrie Bradshaw. Sarah Jessica Parker and Co. are back this week with a new season of And Just Like That… on Max, which is just one of the many titles we’re excited to watch this summer. Also debuting this week is The Better Sister on Prime Video, Adults on Hulu, and Mountainhead, the new film from Succession creator Jesse Armstrong, which is also on Max.
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
The long-awaited new season of And Just Like That… is here, and Carrie Bradshaw is now in a house that is entirely too big for one person to be living in (because Aidan’s living in Virginia). You can catch Carrie and her pals on Max now that the first episode of season three has already premiered. On Hulu, check out the new sitcom Adults, a riff on the Friends genre, and on Prime Video, Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks star in The Better Sister, a new crime thriller that begs the question “Which one of them is the title referring to?”
It’s been almost two years since the last season of And Just Like That… so let’s refresh: Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is back with Aidan Shaw, but not quite – he’s taking time off from the relationship to focus on his kids. Meanwhile, Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) has broken up with Che Diaz and is embracing her life as an out lesbian, and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) is balancing life as a mother while dipping her toe back in the art world. Seema (Sarita Choudhury) and Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker) are also back this season, so get ready, a new episode is already out and new eps will drop weekly on Thursdays on Max.
Jessica Biel and Elizabeth Banks co-star in Prime Video’s new drama The Better Sister, about two estranged sisters, Chloe (Biel), a.k.a. the one with the perfect life, and Nicky (Banks), the one whose life is a mess. The two reunite after Chloe’s husband is murdered, and as the they dig into the specifics of who committed the crime, the shocking truth about their pasts is revealed.
Adults was created by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon writers Ben Kronengold and Rebecca Shaw and is executive produced by Nick Kroll, so the comedy pedigree of this new sitcom is already pretty solid. A new twist on the classic “young adults trying to make it in the city” trope, our reviewer called it “Friends combined with the bawdiness of Broad City.” The show dropped all episodes of its first season already, perfect for your weekend binge.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
