This week on streaming, we’re blessed with arrival of tons of big titles and great originals. On Netflix, you can catch two great new murder mysteries, the new Shonda Rhimes-produced show The Residence, and the chilling, thrilling South Korean film Revelations. If you’re into music, theater, or musical theater, this week saw the arrival of several titles that fit those genres, including O’Dessa on Hulu, Sing Sing on Max, and Wicked on Peacock.
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
Uzo Aduba leads a fantastic cast in The Residence, which takes us behind the scenes of a murder at the White House. The new show is out now on Netflix. For musical lovers, you’ve got two great options on streaming this week: on Hulu, check out Sadie Sink in the rock opera O’Dessa, or hop over to Peacock where you can catch Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo doing their witchy thing in Wicked.
Netflix’s new murder mystery, The Residence, stars Orange Is The New Black‘s Uzo Aduba as a detective piecing together clues after a murder occurs at a state dinner at the White House. The ensemble cast of the Shondaland series includes Giancarlo Esposito, Ken Marino, and Randall Park (and a cameo from Kylie Minogue!) and launched all eight episodes on Thursday.
Stranger Things‘ Sadie Sink is the women responsible for getting us all back into Kate Bush, and now she’s bringing her own singing chops to the screen in the new Hulu rock opera O’Dessa. In this new original, Sink stars as the title character, a young girl traversing a barren, post-apocalyptic landscape with nothing but a guitar on her back – until a group of thieves steals the instrument and forces her to change course and get it back.
I hope you’ve held space to belt out “Defying Gravity” while watching the Wicked, because the Oscar-winning film and a new sing-along version drop this weekend on Peacock. That means that if you haven’t already seen or sung along to the Wizard of Oz prequel yet, you finally can from the comfort of your couch.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
