It’s safe to say that Ben Affleck (that’s DunKing Ben Affleck) has a vested interest in several new programs that are premiering this week. On Prime Video, his wife Jennifer Lopez is debuting a new project that’s part visual album, part narrative story of a woman on a quest for love. And on Apple TV+, there’s the premiere of Affleck’s hometown football team’s new docuseries, The Dynasty: New England Patriots. And while I can’t say for sure if Affleck is an Amy Schumer fan, maybe he’ll be tuning sweet dramedy Life & Beth on Hulu, too.
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
Jennifer Lopez has released her latest project, which is not quite a movie, nor is it a music video, but a cross between the two. Released in tandem with her new album, This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is available on Prime Video. On Apple TV+, you can catch the first two episodes of The Dynasty: New England Patriots, an in-depth look at all the key figures responsible for what is arguably the most controversial and memorable era in the Patriots’ history. And on Hulu, all ten episodes of season two of Amy Schumer’s romantic dramedy Life & Beth is now available.
The unholy union of Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Robert Kraft turned the New England Patriots into one of the most dominant teams in the NFL over the past two decades Apple TV+’s The Dynasty: New England Patriots gets an up close and personal look at the rise and fall of the football team that everyone loves to hate by speaking to the men and women in charge during that time. The first two episodes of The Dynasty drop this Friday, with two episodes dropping weekly after that.
The trailer for This Is Me…Now: A Love Story states that this elaborate visual album comes from the heart, soul and dreams of Jennifer Lopez. The movie blends Lopez’s music with glossy videos, often elaborate and fantasy-laden, that depict JLo as you’ve never seen her before (an outer space sex addict, basically) as a woman on her journey to finding love.
Amy Schumer’s semi-autobiographical series Life & Beth is back for a second season on Hulu this week, and this season focuses on her now-serious relationship with John (Michael Cera), the chef she met while she was staying on Long Island in the wake of her mother’s death. Now, the couple have decided to marry, and as they explore their relationship, they continue to unpack the sometimes rocky relationships they both have with their other family and friends.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
