Now that Superman is out on digital, you can make a whole meal out of the DCU at home by watching that film and then easing right into a new season of Peacemaker on HBO Max, which came out on Thursday. John Cena is back as Chris Smith, a.k.a. Peacemaker, in the second season of DC’s Peacemaker series, which arrived this week on HBO Max. Also out this week is The Truth About Jussie Smollett? in which the actor, who was accused of fabricating a hate crime against him, speaks out about the situation. And on Hulu, Eenie Meanie is a high-octane new thriller starring Samara Weaving as a former getaway driver who is reluctantly pulled into her old lifestyle.
James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of the new season of Peacemaker, which debuted this week on HBO Max and picks up after the events of DC’s latest Superman film. The show, starring John Cena as the titular superhero, co-stars Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland and Frank Grillo, and will run through October 9.
What really happened to actor Jussie Smollett in 2019 on the night he claims to have been the victim of a hate crime in Chicago? It’s a question that’s been asked for years, and in the time since the actor’s assault, he has been accused of staging the incident, was arrested and convicted, and then the conviction was overturned. In the new documentary The Truth About Jussie Smollett?, the actor offers his firsthand account of the incident and his life after it, while police, lawyers, and investigators also offer their own perspective and even new evidence in the case.
Eenie Meanie is an action-packed new Hulu Original heist film with an ensemble cast that includes Samara Weaving, Karl Glusman, Jermaine Fowler, Marshawn Lynch, Randall Park, Steve Zahn, and Andy Garcia. The film follows Weaving’s former teenage getaway driver Edie who gets pulled back into the speed-racing lifestyle she’s tried to leave behind in order to save the life of her ex-boyfriend, John (Glusman).
