This weekend is stacked with fun and thrilling new releases, so if you’re looking for some good, escapist fun, it’s here. Tune in to FUBAR on Netflix, Deep Cover on Prime Video, or Echo Valley on Apple TV+ for everything from spy parodies to criminal cover-ups.
Not sure which new releases to check out? Let us here at Decider help you figure out what to watch this weekend and where to stream it.
What would you do if your child killed someone? That’s the moral dilemma Julianne Moore faces in the new thriller Echo Valley on Apple TV+ when her daughter, played by Sydney Sweeney, asks for help. Echo Valley is a far cry from this week’s other two recomended titles, which are both riffs on the spy genre: FUBAR, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro, is back on Netflix, and Prime Video’s new movie Deep Cover, about a group of improvisers hired to go undercover, are both out now.
It’s been a couple years but we’re still reeling from Mare of Easttown, the mystery series starring Kate Winslet, and this week, a new film from that show’s creator, Brad Ingelsby, is dropping. Echo Valley, penned by Ingelsby and directed by Michael Pearce, stars Julianne Moore as a mother, Kate, whose drug-addicted daughter Claire (Sydney Sweeney) shows up on her doorstep covered in blood with a dead body in her car. Kate needs to decide between doing what’s right and doing what she can to protect her child.
Patrick Schwarzenegger isn’t the only member of his family with a hit show this year. The White Lotus star is a nepo baby, after all, and his dad Arnold is still in the acting game. You can catch Arnold this week in season two of the action comedy FUBAR, where he plays the dad-half of a father-daughter spy team. Monica Barbaro returns as his daughter, Emma, and this season will also co-star Carrie-Anne Moss.
Sometimes the best people for a dangerous undercover law enforcement job are… an improv trio? That’s the premise of Prime Video’s new action comedy Deep Cover starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Mohammed and Orlando Bloom. Howard stars as an improv teacher who, along with two of her students, are recruited to infiltrate a crime syndicate in London. Pretty sure this kind of this never happened at the UCB.
The options above only scratch the surface, so you know that this weekend’s full lineup will have amazing options for what to watch this weekend!
