New 'Peaky Blinders' movie details revealed as Rebecca Ferguson joins Cillian Murphy in Netflix film

Fans have been granted more intel on the cast of the highly anticipated Peaky Blinders film.
We now know a bit more about the cast: Rebecca Ferguson will take part in the Netflix release, according to a Deadline report published earlier today. While details surrounding her character have yet to be disclosed, Cillian Murphy will be back in the role of Tommy Shelby, which he starred as for six seasons.
Among Ferguson’s recent credits are both Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), and Silo (2023). She also made headlines for calling out an “idiot of a co-star” of hers, whom she claimed “screamed” at her on set. As for who the culprit was and which set this took place on, that’s still up for debate.
News first broke about the Peaky Blinders movie in June, with Murphy releasing a statement to Netflix at the time, in which he wrote that “it seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with [him].”
“It is very gratifying to be recollaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans,” he continued.
Knight will craft the script, while Harper is attached to direct. Netflix announced today that another project from Knight — an eight-part series titled House of Guinness — is currently in production.
Peaky Blinders, which debuted in 2013, touts a 93% for both the average Tomatometer and average audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Other than Murphy, the cast of Peaky Blinders also features Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Helen McCrory, Ned Dennehy and Finn Cole.
All six seasons of Peaky Blinders are streaming on Netflix.
