The The Fantastic Four: First Steps, which marks the beginning of Phase Six of the MCU, arrives on VOD this week, along with several other films we’re excited about. Spiltsville, a new comedy co-starring Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona, is also out on digital, as is Adulthood, directed by Alex Winter (that’s Bill S. Preston, Esq. to some of you).
Adulthood is a dark comedy co-starring Josh Gad and Kaya Scodelario as siblings who discover a dead body in their parents’ basement. From there, they become embroiled in a world of crime and violence they never expected or wanted. Billie Lourd, Anthony Carrigan and Winter all co-star.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps, based on the Marvel comic, is directed by Matt Shakman and co-stars Pedro Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the voice of The Thing, and Joseph Quinn as Human Torch. In the 2025 iteration of the franchise, it’s the 1960s, but it’s also a parallel universe and the squad is tasked with protecting Earth from Galatus (Ralph Ineson), a cosmic being capable of sucking the life force out of the planet.
Splitsville is the new romantic comedy from director/writer Michael Angelo Covino, who also co-stars in the film alongside Dakota Johnson and Adria Arjona. When Ashley (Arjona) asks her husband Carey (co-screenwriter Kyle Marvin) for a divorce, he seeks support from his best friend Paul (Covino) and his wife Julie (Johnson). But when Carey finds out that the secret to Paul and Julie’s happiness is an open marriage, their happiness, and all of their relationships, are thrown into chaos.
