This week’s new movies on VOD are a feisty bunch filled with action and adventure. For kids, we’ve got animated hits like The Bad Guys 2 and Disney’s Elio which both premiered on digital earlier in the week, and for grown ups, you may want to catch Christopher McQuarrie’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, or F1 The Movie.
F1 the Movie, which was directed by Joseph Kosinski who also helmed Top Gun: Maverick, stars Brad Pitt as a retired F1 driver whose old friend (Javier Bardem) entices him back to the sport and he finds himself up against a young hotshot played by Damson Idris.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
What happens when a buncha bad guys meet a buncha bad gals? That’s the premise of The Bad Guys 2, the sequel to the 2022 animated film. The Bad Guys 2 features the voices of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, Awkwafina, Zazie Beetz, Richard Ayoade, Lilly Singh, and Alex Borstein who all reprise their roles from the first movie; Danielle Brooks, Maria Bakalova and Natasha Lyonne join the cast as the bad girls.
Almost 30 years after the first Mission: Impossible film starring Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, the franchise is (probably?) ending with Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. The film reunited Cruise’s Hunt with his old buddies Luther and Benji (Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg) and super-pickpocket Grace (Hayley Atwell) as they try to prevent a rogue AI known as the Entity from destroying the world. The plot’s all well and good, but you’re really just here to watch Tom Cruise do his own aerial stunts on a prop plane.
