Two biographical films are among our top picks for new movies to watch on VOD this weekend; they include Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla Presley movie Priscilla, the A24 drama about Nazi commandant Rudolf Hoss, The Zone of Interest, and a movie about Time’s Person of the Year, Taylor Swift.
That’s right, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is now available to watch at home – not coincidentally, it came out on Prime Video December 13, T-Swift’s birthday, and it’s even got some bonus performances in there, too!
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Sofia Coppola’s newest film is another intimate portrait of a complicated woman: Priscilla is a look at the life of teenager Priscilla Beaulieu (Cailee Spaeny), and her passionate and tumultuous relationship and eventual marriage to Elvis Presley (Jacob Elordi). The film captures the intoxicating highs and lows of a first love in Coppola’s signature style, telling the story of Elvis from the perspective of the person he was closest to at that time.
The new A24 film The Zone of Interest has had a big week: not only is the Jonathan Glazer-directed film available on demand as of today, it also received three Golden Globe nominations, including nods for Best Picture – Drama, Best Picture – Non-English Language, and Best Score. The film is a historical drama about the life of Nazi commander Rudolf Hoss (Christian Friedel), the man responsible for gassing over one million Jews at Auschwitz, as he builds a dream home and life with his wife, while enforcing horrific crimes against humanity.
