This week’s new movies on demand include some of the most-talked-about titles of the past few months, including Moana 2, which had the third-highest box office gross of 2024, and the Nicole Kidman-Harris Dickinson erotic thriller Babygirl.
Also out this week is Sing Sing, the prison drama which has earned Colman Domingo a Best Actor nomination at the upcoming 97th Academy Awards. The film is based on the real-life Rehabilitation Through The Arts program at Sing Sing prison in New York and co-stars several former inmates who actually graduated from the prison’s theater program.
These are just a few of the films that are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video, iTunes, YouTube, and through your cable service this week. Check out what movies are available to buy or rent on demand now.
Moana 2 was one of the biggest films of 2024 and it arrives on digital this week before its eventual release on Disney+. The sequel to the 2016 animated musical Moana takes place three years after the events of the first film and reunites Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson who voice the film’s main characters Moana and Maui, who must embark on a dangerous mission together to save their world as they know it.
In Babygirl, Nicole Kidman stars as the CEO of a company who has a sexual affair with a much-younger intern. The film made a name for itself thanks to its steamy sex scenes and its pro-milk agenda, but it also explores themes of power dynamics and women’s desires in ways that were often not addressed in the erotic thrillers it seems to draw from.
